** SCHOOL JOURNEY NEWS **
Day 1
We arrived swiftly, safely and sensibly, then settled into our chalets. We were given a tour of the site, and ate a hearty meal, preparing us for our orienteering activity: Passport to the World.
Funny events:
•Somebody locked themselves out of their room, within the first 10 minutes.
•Someone tried to use the torch the wrong way round.
•Someone squirted mustard into somebody’s hair.
And all the above was just the teachers!!
Mitchell is looking forward to visiting Donkey World on Friday – we haven’t the heart to tell him it’s actually Monkey World we’ll be visiting.
Day 2
Today we travelled through time, and through the wind and rain! Our day began with the Timewalk at Brewer’s Quay, where we were told about the history of Weymouth, by a cat. In the afternoon, we climbed walls, and shot arrows, but not at the climbers.
•We discovered Spidergirl amidst our ranks, as Chrissie A. raced to the top of the climbing wall.
•Robin Hood will be quaking in his boots, as Harry displayed his skills at archery.
•Mickahala and Krishan have bravely overcome their fears of heights and made good progress on the climbing wall.

After his 3rd failed attempt, Philip is still determined to catch one of the rabbits that run around outside our chalets.
The children were fast asleep by 10pm, while the teachers tucked into Mrs Mansfield’s homemade cake, which Ms Warhurst brought to us.
Day 3
We’re half-way through the week now, and enjoying every minute. After climbing up the walls yesterday, we came down them today. Roya and Harshita conquered their anxieties and proved what brave people they are as they joined Ms Warhurst, A.K.A. The Bionic Woman, in abseiling down the wall. Everybody enjoyed travelling round the circuit in the Quad bikes, once we found one that worked.

•In Sea Life today, Dino C. found Nemo in the aquarium. We saw the penguins being fed, and the Otters earn their food with various tricks, as part of their training. We were astounded by their obedience – they were nearly as good as the pupils at Firs Farm. We saw turtles, seals, seahorses, stingrays, venomous creatures, crabs, and an assortment of colourful fish.
•We are proud to report that Justin at Sea Life, who talked to us about various species, named our group as the most attentive and inquisitive he had ever met.
Osmington Bay are seeking to employ Andreas, who has been incredibly helpful around the site.
Lights went out at 9.30pm tonight, at the children’s request.
Todays activies have changed due to weather
conditions. Children will be having a go at
Aeroball and music through ICT.
DAY 4
Well, it was a day full of unexpected events. We woke up to find 6 inches of snow! This, of course, led to a change of plans for the day. The melting of the snow caused flooding along the girls’ corridor, so they were upgraded from 3* to 5* accommodation, with excellent views. A special thanks to all the PGL staff who cleared the path and helped with the move. We enjoyed the Aeroball, which combined trampolining and netball skills. We also composed some exquisite songs using computer software. A possible career in music production awaits Eashan, Zainab, Tyra, Ben H. and Sophie.
Tope has earnt the title of “Carb King” today for eating all forms of cooked potato: mashed, baked, fries, hash brown, boiled & wedges.
On the final room-check of the day, Mrs Frangou was overwhelmed by one of the chalet’s new cologne Eau de Sock, which literally steamed her glasses as she entered.
We are looking forward to Monkey World tomorrow, and to sharing the events of the week with our families and friends back home.
The teachers want to say a big thank you to all the children, who have been fantastic all week. We have received so many positive comments from staff on-site, and at our various visits. We are so proud of all of them.
